Re: Carryover of saved custom views

....I know some people advocate for new templates with every release.... I wouldn't say I advocate for them, but our VAR used that specifically as a copout for an issue that we began having a while back (I think that one we were having issues with feature names not being persistent through differen...

Re: How often do you do renderings?

I do it so few and far between it's always a learning adventure the next time the boss requests it. Then choosing between photoview 360 and visualize and trying to toy around with all that. Most of our parts are black anodized, so trying to get that to look good and then also have a transparent back...

Re: Workstations, what do you use?

We previously used Dell (Company has a Dell account, which we use for all other computer buys), but after receiving a few underwhelming workstations, we switched to BOXX for several years/purchases. It seemed to us that the Dell systems should work well, but were "bloaty" on receipt and we...

Glenn Schroeder wrote: Fri Feb 24, 2023 11:48 am Why would anyone want them in reverse order? (I don't mean that as criticism; I'm genuinely curious.)
I have thought of this before. Just to separate things out from overlapping.
For instance, If I start my datums at A B C, it might be nice to have the views work backwards, Z Y X, etc.

Re: Screen recorder with sound

Try hitting windows+g. There's a built in screen recorder for gamers in windows. I'm not sure what it's limitations are (not sure if it picks up switching between programs or not), but we were suprised that it was there and we didn't know about it. Even if it doesn't help you, I hope someone else se...

Right? This forum seems to be a nice little obscure corner of the internet. It's a shame to see that shills have made their way here even. o[

Re: Excited to be here

Excellent! That sounds quite familiar to my role. Curious about your Markforged printer, by chance is it the Metal X or one of the polymer based systems? We have an X2 and X7. Polymer based. We had been looking at Metal X, as we had a budget in that range at the end of the year, but that passed wit...

Re: Excited to be here

.........If you don't mind me asking, what's your main role with Solidworks (drafter, designer, admin, etc)? I use Solidworks to design our products. If it's a production part, I make drawings for it. If it's a simple fixture or something that is a one off thingamabob, I can 3D print it on one of o...

Such a mess. o[
It was difficult to even find that post.
I thought maybe they would just port Solidworks to a cloud offering, but this whole 3DExperience movement is far worse than I ever could have imagined.

Re: SOLIDWORKS Online Licensing Discontinuation

Shame they did this. After the initial bugs, I was really happy with Online Licensing and proud of Solidworks for finally doing something right to make amends for the tragedy of the eliminated HUL. Only to have them turn around and remove it and make insulting excuses about why they did so. So obvio...

Excited to be here

Hi everyone :D ! I'm excited to be here. Before the days of youtube, I learned so much from the many different solidworks forums and blogs out there. I feel like I lucked out to be part of what seemed to be their "heyday". I'm sad to see what has become of the solidworks official forum, so...
