Re: Cheap/free alternatives to SolidWorks PDM

Re: How to close popups
You'll have to use WinAPI to enumerate all windows and detect the one you are interested in. Then use WinAPI again to send IDOK for the dialog. Note that all controls, labels, buttons and everything in every dialog/form IS a window, so you need to consider also performance when implementing somethin...

Re: What is the most efficient way to see where a file is saved?
Component Properties, as was already suggested. If you want to overview paths of all components, Pack & Go is pretty good that. Anything further for that, I often setup special CUSTOMTOOLS Export profile for my customers just so that to get an overview of the whole assembly and whatever Custom P...

Re: Drawing Automation
Thanks Alex. I am curious about their sheet metal procedures. However, the demo shows simple DXF generating of blanc drawing sheet with unfolded product. That is a bit to simple in many cases. Sadly many of our videos are very outdated, but we have started working on those now. For sheet metals we ...

Re: Drawing Automation
What releases of SolidWorks have you been combining with CustomTools? Are they quick to adapt to new versions without a half year overlap with problems? We release new major version every year (e.g. CUSTOMTOOLS 2023) usually within 2 weeks from new major version release of SOLIDWORKS. E.g. now we a...

Re: Drawing Automation
The attached picture is too small for my old eyes. When I click on the picture it just takes me to a blank imgur web site. Weird. The same happened for me too first time, but then it loaded properly on the second try. It's quite a bit better resolution than the previous upscaled one. EDIT: Finally ...

Re: to PDM standard or not
Didn't read the whole thread but my first though was exactly what JSculley wrote The answers to your questions really depend on your answer to this question: What problem(s) do you hope to solve or objectives to you hope to achieve by using PDM? Judging by your answer that currently you have perform...
