Imported Geometry errors and performance

If you leave import diagnostic errors (faulty faces and gaps) unrepaired is there a negative performance impact? Specifically with regards to vendor supplied PCBs. Our engineering department has a requirement of repairing ALL import diagnostic errors on imported geometry. I do understand that if you...

Time/effort for drawing packages

As someone who has been using SW for awhile for mechanical design/engineering roles, and having worked in various different industries with varying degrees of regulatory requirements, I have come across a wide swath of different drawing requirements and the time needed to create them. Is there some ...

Re: How to display exploded lines

Re: SWYM Reseller

This is what I like to call "progress for the sake of progress". I always use ye olde website standard of McMaster-Carr as an example. Virtually unchanged for 2 decades because they know who their customers are and will continue to be....people who need to get shite done in an expedient fa...

Re: A sensible part numbering system - before it’s too late!

I forgot to add a huge caveat to my diatribe above. The company has to have a PDM system or an MRP system or SOME type of system that uses metadata of some sort that can be easily searched/referenced. If you are only ever going to use WE for file management then by all means, smart those numbers up!...

Re: A sensible part numbering system - before it’s too late!

I am in the same camp as SPerman and mirisj above. If you are asking it is already too late. I am of the mindset that anything that you can do to minimize human interaction with data is a plus every time. Dumb smart numbering systems just make PDM/ERP/MRP automation easier in my experience/opinion. ...

Thank you Jason. I will pass that on to the PDM admin and see if it is something that he is willing to change.

Re: Get Latest Version

What Alex said. I will go to check in my assembly and get a Check In dialogue box with the "Check In" button greyed out and a red warning next to the assembly I am trying to check in. When I expand the warning it will list the offending part(s) saying to open the checked out assembly file ...

Get Latest Version

We have some released parts that are used in other assemblies that need to be opened and the latest version gotten no matter how many times I open. rebuild and resave the assembly. This has to be done every time that I need to check in the assembly. Has anyone else had this issue? Does anyone know w...
