A new member of the family

Unread post by Glenn Schroeder »

If all goes well I'll have a granddaughter in late October. I love being a grandfather. This will be the second grandchild (Jett will be 4 in August).

Concrats Glenn. I know the feeling. I have the privilege of being a grandfather 16 times and a great grandfather 1 time so far. They are fun.

That's wonderful. We only have two children, so 16 grandchildren is unlikely, but I hope to live to see great-grandchildren.

Somewhere there's a picture of my father holding me when I was a baby, alongside his father and paternal grandfather. My great-grandfather and my grandfather died before my son was born, and my father died before my grandson was born, so we haven't been able to duplicate that picture of four generations since that one. It's one of my fondest hopes that we will in about 20 years.

Congrats Glen!

Talking about generational pics.... One of my coworkers has a pic of 5 generations. Him, his son, his grandson, his mom, and his grandparents.

Congratulations!

I was jealous of you.
I wonder if I marry my 9-year-old son to a suitable bride, can I be grandfather than me.

Congratulations @Glenn Schroeder - That is AWESOME news!
That's a great 4 generation picture @Tony Tieuli !
(I have a 4 generation picture at home that I'll have to scan and share.)
We did have 3 generations jump out of a plane together several years ago.

I wonder if it has something to do with you being outside the area - it shouldn't, but the full article pulled up for me.

We are leaving Saturday morning for Yorktown, VA. Our Navy Lt. daughter is due in a few weeks and we are going there to take care of their adorable two-year old, Maggie. This will be Grandkid #5. The other three are in Indiana. We had the two oldest ones here a week ago for their spring break. They are third grade and kindergarten. It was great to have them, but having kids is definitely for a younger person!

I pulled out the pulley swing I had made for my kids probably 25 years ago. They loved it.

Aw heck, there should be (7) pictures with the story - they were at the top of the article, just pop the arrows to cycle through them.

Yes it is, and I'm fortunate that mine lives about 100 yards away, so I get lots of opportunities.

Yeah, I went back to the article and found that the pics were covered up by a survey request which I ignored the first time.
I answered a 1 question survey and was able to see the pics.
You guys look like you had a great time! ><
