current sheet number is disappearing

On our drawing sheets the sheet number information is linked to the following:

$PRP:"SW-Current Sheet(Current Sheet)" OF $PRP:"SW-Total Sheets(Total Sheets)"

But every time we save it into PDM the first part disappears. So all our sheets show i.e.

 OF 8

as the sheet number. The current sheet is gone! If I open the drawing it will automatically refresh though.

What are we doing wrong?
We use SolidWorks 2021 SP4
