Oh, that sucks. Well, we know that literally everyone is hiring these days. So hopefully your time spent without work will be minimal.

Heck, if you want to move to Traverse City, I know of a bunch of places... LOL

DSS just lost a very valuable talented person.

I've been following your work for a while...I just pulled a binder off my shelf and the very first thing in it is your presentation "Using a layout part to drive an assembly" from back when I was first learning SW in 2013. We don't always show the appreciation for what you've done for us. So, thank you.

Good luck and I'm sure there are better opportunities available. Let us know what we can do to help you.

On Tuesday I was terminated from my job... but the journey continues forward.
I'm sorry to hear that, and I know what a shock it can be. However, I wouldn't be at all surprised if you look back in a year and realize it was for the best.

I *can* conceive how someone with values and ideals would react against what's being done there.
@TooTallToby , you're one of the most charismatic presenters I've ever seen, because your enthusiasm shows. I see this action as their loss.

A VAR would do well to attract you. I wish you well in this transition.

Toby, I don't really know you but have seen some of your videos. As with most peoples reaction, your energy and charisma stand out! so, whatever the reason was... it's not important, if anything, you've been been given a get out of whatever free card... and many doors have just opened and your FOV is wide... someone is going to be lucky to work with you and you them. Excellent! Be cool if the community could pick a day at the conference for as many people to wear a TooTallToby T-shirt as possible.

@Alin, if Javelin hasn't made @TooTallToby an offer, here's a big opportunity to up Javelin's game.
Don't worry @TooTallToby, if you don't like the cold up there in Canada, I contacted my VAR about the possible opportunity to hire you (Southeast US).

TriMech is my VAR (Florida). But the question is "What is their Vax Policy?"

Every answer everywhere should include a video from @TooTallToby now. Just... because we can.

I'd love to know details, but it is in your best interest to shut the hell up until you secure your next gig.

Might be a good time to start a career in design. <ll>

Toby, the only one that lost anything is DS, you know something is wrong when they cut loose such a big advocate for SW.

I think the community is bigger than you think, I appreciate all that you have done over the past couple years. Your impact on SW users worldwide is huge.

This next year will be big for you, glad to see you found your way home to the new SW spot.

Just a few random thoughts. I only know you (Toby) by reputation, so don't take anything too personally.

Big fish, small river. How much of your talent bandwidth did that (or any) job actually take? They'll find someone to meet their needs. Someone with less talent and more pliability, most likely.

Incompetent people can linger for eons if they don't make waves.

But it appears you fell in the wake of a conflict of core values. Competence or even excellence can not save you then.

I just saw this today. I wondered what happened. (I know I'm seeing this a year later. I haven't been spending much time online lately)
Hopefully your current endeavors are prospering and all is well.
