I need to create a CAD drawing of a front loader bucket for a John Deere 310 L backhoe.

I've heard that there were public sites made by CAD enthusiasts, where people create drawings for various items.

Is this true? Where might I look to find a file?

Based on that, I'm assuming you are doing some FEA or something like that with it? Since you are a student, the manufacturer may be willing to provide you with a CAD model. I'd trust that more than anything you could find on Grabcad or any other site for an accurate model.
