Need to completely reset colors after upgrade to v22

Unread post by doobes »

Hi all,

New poster. Long time lurker.

I upgraded to v22 SP1.0 not long ago, and somehow in the process managed to bugger up all my screen colors.

I've seen all the stuff about scenes and such, but the text in the "auxiliary" selection is the same as the background...

Is there a way to reset all the screen colors to original?

thanks!

More specifically, how do I make the text in the flyout feature manager tree visible?

Thanks

Chris

I would start by resetting to factory settings. That's in the bottom left corner of the Systems Options window.

Yep. Done that. Even went so far as to delete the user config from the registry.

No soap.

Thanks

I am assuming you've clicked to reset colors to defaults since it's already mentioned. Is your flyout feature tree color set to white right now? See the image below for which setting in the colors menu to change if it needs to be darker. (I'm using 2021 but am assuming it's still the same)

I had an issue with colors not staying correctly when I was administrating some of the UI colors to maintain some consistency across installations. Turns out, that was more of a headache than it was worth because the colors for the "Dark" theme were being applied to whatever the user was using. So when they opened SW with the "Light" theme, all the text was also very light and didn't contrast with the background.

So, as it turns out, it was a video card driver thing. I downloaded and installed the newest driver, voila! Problem solved.

Thanks

Hey Doobes, sorry I'm kind of late to the party, but could you perhaps have "Enhanced graphic performance" checked..? That setting causes more issues then it solves, actually I've never actually heard of it solving an issue, but I've read countless times where it caused massive issues.

Alin is a big fan. I think I've seen one or two posts by others saying they like it. But the vast majority of the feedback is negative. I look forward to trying it when we upgrade to 2022. (Fingers crossed)

I love Alin but I have to take some of what he says with a grain of salt unfortunately. He is bound to them, so he can't really "$#!+" on it. He's also going to be a big fan, concidering he has top of the line brand new hardware, which is not the case for the majority of users unfortunately, so his opinion on this is somewhat misrepresentative.

Hey Alex,

Sorry, been out chasing rainbows.

Yes, it's checked. I didn't toggle that when I was experiencing the issue.

Everything seems to be copasetic at this precise instant in time.

Appreciate the feedback.
