parasolid : saving line composite curves

Unread post by nzhills »

Hi, I'm very new to this forum. I am experiencing trouble saving a set of composite curves as a parasolid. When I have a wire frame of what I want i click File : Save As and I change the type to parasolid .x_t. On clicking Save an error box comes up saying "The file could not be saved because the part's geometry is not valid for this type of save operation." Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong and how I can rectify this situation?
Best regards
Mark

Is the sketch being converted to Curve entity?
Sketch entity could not be exported.

If you are still having issue after converting to curve entity... maybe try:
1. Changing the parasolid version
2. Changing file type to other neutral format (eg: STEP, IGES, etc)
Far too many items in the world are designed, constructed and foisted upon us with no understanding-or even care-for how we will use them.

I believe a solid body is required to save as the parasolid file format. At least in Solidworks.

As Zhen said, you need a "Curve" for Parasolid. So, what you can do is Convert them using:
"Insert/Curve/Composite Curve"
