Sheetmetal Box bends

Unread post by TTevolve »

I was curious if anyone with sheet metal experience could offer some advice on the best way to create a box bend part. Currently I make a flat plate then add an edge flange, and then a second edge flange to make a part that looks like this

I was wondering is there a process that is quicker/easier?

Try all the sheetmetal tools and see.
We can tell you what is faster for this box but every one will be different.
You'll need to learn which tool work in which situation.

@TTevolve I would've done the same. This is a lot easier than it used to be before edge flanges would miter themselves.

I was just wondering if there wasn't an easier way, I didn't think so but figured I would ask if anybody had other ideas on it.

The thing easier is to save the finished box as a startup template ;)

Have you experimented with the Miter Flange tool?
It is great for stuff like this.
