Imported .STEP files are invisible

Unread post by Mike Gera »

If I save a part or assembly as a .STEP file and then try to open that .STEP file, the part or assemble is invisible.

The feature tree, however, is fully intact.

Is this a bug perhaps?

Thanks for any help.

Turns out I had "Output as" set to Wireframe and "Export face/edge properties" was unchecked.

That being said, shouldn't a wireframe appear as...something?

Thanks.

You might have turned off surface and sketch on import.

Hey Mike,

Another workaround if your imported STEP file is invisible:
1. Go to the root node of your feature tree
2. Right-click "break links"

And the imported part/assembly should be visible.

(disclaimer: I don't know if this is the correct way to do it... but it works for me...)
