Hi all.
I have a question about simplifying sketch of imported DXF file. Please see the attached pic.
How can I reduce the number of point to less number? Is there a simply sketch command, I tried fit spline command but it doesn't do much.
Thanks,
Jay
Recduce points in in imported DXF file
Re: Recduce points in in imported DXF file
You can draw spline by selecting fewer points.
Also check the heal edges tool if that helps.

I'd say, the first question to ask is why are these edges created in the first place...? Could you show a bit more of the part, perhaps a bent version? I've never seen jagged edges like this on a cut done through a radius.mega128 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 30, 2023 1:52 pm Hi all.

Thanks all! Fit spline tool worked fine after few tries.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.
Re: Recduce points in in imported DXF file
I have imported Logo's that were a DXF generated from a picture file, it will have a ton of points like that. I usually use that as a template and then create new geometry (arcs/lines) to approximate it. It's very hard to fit a curve to something that has sharp changes in direction constantly. I use the files for engraving/machining on a CNC so arcs/lines are easier for it to follow.
