Revision in BOM

Unread post by ngreen »

Hello. Is there a way to transfer the latest revision from the revision table on a drawing into that parts properties? and therefore get it to automatically appear in the assembly BOM.

The only way I can see to do it is manually enter the revision into the part properties each time the drawing is revised, but is more work and risks errors.

@ngreen do you make different revisions of a part number on a regular basis? Typically, in production there's only one active, implemented revision of a part. I'm not seeing the purpose to have revision in the BOM in the where used unless there are various revisions of that part being consumed at the same time.

we do not use revision tables, but we have the revision variable linked to the pdm counter (a,b,c,d...) inside the datacard and file custom properties.
we use that variable on drawing BOMs

the same that we use to show the rev nr in the title block of the single part.
