Angled dimension from vertice
Hey,
I know I can do angled dimensions from a vertice but I'm unable to achieve it. Could somone please enlighten me..? The toggle switch just doesn't show up upon selection.
From memory, I'm supposed to select the line and the vertice but I can't seem to get it to work.

Yes, with the dimension tool active, select a line/edge and a collinear point/vertex. The popup should appear.

I believe it's either 2 edges or 3 points.

Hrmm.. Doesn't seem to work in 2023 SP3..?
Re: Angled dimension from vertice
Just tried it on 2023 sp3. Works ok for me. Never knew this before. Nice feature.
Ideas are simple, once you've thought of them

Re: Angled dimension from vertice
As far as I know, it only works if the point AND the line are from the same entity. (i.e., the point is the end point of the line you already selected)

Are you in a detail view in a drawing? There is a bug report against SW2023 SP3:
BR10000357494 -- Cannot dimension to imaginary lines in detail view

The point must lie on a line or its extension (colinear)DanPihlaja wrote: ↑Wed Sep 06, 2023 12:03 pm As far as I know, it only works if the point AND the line are from the same entity. (i.e., the point is the end point of the line you already selected)
Hmm... A alien doesn't know...
