Can you post a link? I knew how to find that before 3DXP, but haven't kept up with where they keep that info, now.

Welp, none of the bugs we had in SP3 are fixed lol. Thankfully they aren't really showstoppers.

LMAO ... Yes Sir.

I just hope the issues you have don't impact you like they did to us. Wouldn't wish that on anyone.

I still can't bring myself to even try it yet.

I have work arounds for all of them already and they aren't issues we'll run into multiples times a day so it's not much impairing on our end, just an annoyance.

I have something you could test for me, if you have time. The GIF below follows these steps:

1. Create a new part.
2. Extrude a feature (I'm showing tubing because that is what I was working on when discovering this problem.)
3. Pick a plane, draw a sketch. Do an Extrude cut, and pick "Through all both."
4. Pick another plane, draw a sketch. Do an Extrude cut, and pick "Through all both."

For me, on 2022SP5, the 2nd extrude cut behaves as "through all" not "through all both." I have to click on the drop down and re-pick "through all both" to get it to behave.

I am a GIF. Click me!

The only notable difference so far in SP4 is that they seem to have "fixed" the slowdowns that there was in drawings, or at least a bunch of 'em.

It looks like I can open drawings at normal speed from our just upgraded to 2023, SP4.0 vault.

Something we have noticed on my drawing templates in SW 2023. I decided to only save as my 2023 templates from my 2022 templates. If I open a template in 2023 and do a save as new drawing template filename, when I open that new copy, the template thinks it is the old filename as far as the bar across the top of the SolidWorks window and the filename properties. If I do a find references, it shows the correct filename. (I had my VAR look at it and they can see it too.)

To avoid this, do the save as or rename in SolidWorks 2022, open it in 2022 and make sure it is correct, then open it in 2023.

I noticed the mess with the templates when I remade them in 2022 from 2021. they remember their original file names when edited you can see it in the window title and pdm add In.

I remade them from scratch, so before overwriting our current templates I had them with a temporary file name only to notice later that name would simply refuse to go away... I looked for an official procedure to make templates and I have not found anything special. it would be nice to have a strict procedure since, by mistake I was able to trigger a "SOLIDWORKS 95 beta" template that broke the sensors and probably many other things if unnoticed...

SP4?
Don't care... wake me up for SP5.

I can't be bothered with their beta releases anymore.
Most of the new things they 'advertise' don't really make anything better or easier, and if you do dare to rely on them, by the next release it will be broken and the work around will be *drum roll*... not to use it.

I for one got better things to do like actually doing my job instead of babysitting their broken overpriced junk and spending hours on making Rx and detailed reports of what goes wrong which end up in some blackhole and totally ignored.
Yeah, I'm tired and have no effs to give anymore. I'll use the product because I have to but after 14 years of dealing with their BS and trying to get them making certain basic functionality working as it should ... *shrug*. All we ever get is marketing lingo and pompous idiotic claims to make stockholders happy, price increases and things no one asked for while they claim we were all gagging for it.

The only "uplifting" I want to see is an uplift in their Quality Control team and their customer support. After close to a decade and a half it became clear to me that those things will happen when hell freezes over, and even then it's not guaranteed but merely a slightly higher chance for it to happen.

(yeah a rant, inspired because something as elementary as re-attaching the zero point of an ordinate dimension STILL doesn't work properly meaning that I have to redo all the ordinate dimensions once again... on multiple drawings and multiple views. The next time any salesrep dares to state how SW let's us concentrate on design... I'll lay in them until they are crying for their mommy)

You should do test runs before proceeding to upgrading to a newer version, to make sure everything works as expected. Obviously you won't catch everything but it generally has given me a good idea. We upgrade only to keep up with maintenance or if the version we upgraded to was bunkers after all.

I got an email announcing the release of SW2023 sp5 EV on Monday, if that helps.

Yeah I was reading the release notes which got me to check that and I wasn't sure if Q4 meant 4rth quarter.

I'm not really convinced that there is even a benefit for us to switch to this version at all this year.
I don't really see anything of any real significance worth the risk of the upgrade.
Will be the first year we have actually skipped since I started working here 18 years ago.

I agree with you. I am upgrading hoping to fix some annoying issues that exist in 2022, but I have no doubt they will be replaced with new annoying issues.

We've been getting a few minor corruptions on SP4 so far, but I'm guessing those minor corruptions were the reason we upgraded from SP3 to SP4. In SP3, some files would not open. In SP4, some files become corrupt after long work sessions.

*Note, the corruption could also be caused by our side. We've upgraded servers and are still adjusting, it works flawlessly 99% of the time but there are some things to adjust.
