Centered Hole Pattern

Unread post by Bryan O »

Maybe someone has simple, consistent way to do this....

I would like a 32mm hole pattern symmetrical about the part centerline. (part attached)
The attached model is based off the lower corner of pattern, which is NOT what I want.

I would like configurable 32mm patter symmetrical about the part centerline.
Optimally I would like to do it based on geometric constrains without equations or formulas.

I tried a bidirectional pattern and tried to link the configuration of the count. That did not work.

Just curious to see how others might approach this.

SW2024 has a Symmetric Check Box that I think may do what you are trying to do.

Don't tie your seed hole or pattern to the part, tie it back to the planes (or create planes if your not centered around the default ones). Then the part can grow/shrink and your pattern will stay in the center.

NICE! That makes a lot of sense.
