Creating Icons for macros

Greetings,

I've just built a nice little VBA application for exporting all the 3D printable parts in an assembly (or an individual part) to a folder.

I would like to put it on the taskbar with an icon.

Is there a magic decoder ring somewhere on how to create a 16 x 16 bmp, 256 color, white background bmp file that SolidWorks will actually accept?

I've tried a myriad of different things in GIMP without success.
