Okay this one is driving me up the wall right now. I'm sure it's something super simple, but it has been kicking me for the last half hour.
No matter what components I try to mate, even two totally undefined and floating ones, I get this message:
It is not a component level problem, because parts that I had successfully added earlier have the same problem if I suppress the relationships and try to apply new ones. And no, the component is not is grounded.

What causes this error in a SE assembly while applying relationships?

We got that sometimes, I wouldn't say regularly but often enough that everyone knew that was time to restart Solid Edge. Close it nicely but then double check that it's gone from Task Manager. I don't think restart of computer was needed. Some thought so but that was only if and edge.exe process was still running with no GUI. Then either restart PC or kill the process.mike miller wrote: ↑Fri Jul 02, 2021 12:49 pm Okay this one is driving me up the wall right now. Just curious, are those files on network share or local disk?

Restarting SE fixed it......for now. But what would cause this in the first place?
Edit: literally typed this out as @bnemec posted.

That's about how I operate; if I have a useful reply it arrives after the problem is solved.

We don't really know. Usually we had a busy assembly and "Adjustable Assemblies" (SW calls the Flexiable I think) in the mix so hard to say. The only common thread I found is that the assembly had been open and various relationships applied and changed, deleted, moved, etc. Also maybe some editing the parts in place. But now that I wrote that you'll probably say, "Nope, I just started this new assembly and applied one relationship then I got this."mike miller wrote: ↑Fri Jul 02, 2021 1:09 pm Restarting SE fixed it......for now. If you have maintenance plan then I would say call GTAC. They're all great there, but Wayne is absolutely excellent.

It might be that your offset distance icon appears to be active..even though set to a value of 0.00. If the mate is attempting to align axis it really can't make it an offset value too?? Just throwing that out there because the ruler icon is Orange.
