The lists I posted are what you see if you search for 'block'. Because you can't see the Area and Sub-Area filters until you search for something.
What's fun is searching for 'Treehouse', and seeing the first result:
and then doing a search for 'wrong icons display' and having a bunch of results (including the one above), but the 'Treehouse' sub-area isn't listed. When you have a search with hundreds of results, narrowing it down is a real crap shoot.
It's pretty clear that the area and sub-area are whatever the VAR or SW support person put in, with no checks along the way or post-processing to add obvious area/sub-area entries based on the text of the report. Seems like every report with the word Treehouse in it ought to have 'Treehouse' as the area or sub-area, but alas, they do not.

i just got a brief pricing comparison between SOLIDWORKS Manage and PTC Windchill recently....
i am really surprise that the price difference is...ALOT
(I expect PTC stuff to be expensive...but not that expensive...)

Yes....quite a difference. Also, Manage licensing is floating so you can share across the organization. Windchill has many different module licenses and they are "named user" licenses. We ended up implementing a 90 license deactivation for user that haven't used a particular license in attempt to control cost.
Then there are implementation costs. Manage is complex, much more so than PDM.......but Windchill can make it look easy.
That said, Windchill is powerful and has a lot of options. The cost, complexity, and support just puts it out of reach for small and maybe some medium size companies.

Been working for the last month on an off-road trailer for a client of ours. I'm about to finish it, can't wait to see it. The trailer won't be road legal, all the lights on it will be green so it will give it a pretty neat look. It's 12 feet wide and will be 17 and a half feet high from the ground, carrying roughly a load of 180 000 pounds. It's ridiculously oversized.

The western upper peninsula of Michigan is currently known as one of the most beautiful wooded areas in the united states.
That entire area was clear cut in the 1890's-1910's. There are pictures of the landscape being just stumps.
If that area can grow back and be state park wilderness, complete with wolves and moose....then the rest of the world is going to be fine. The earth takes care of itself.

Back to logging.....sustainable logging is already done. We have have pine tree farms where they cut and replace. The bigger deal may be down in South America.....not so much for logging but clearing to create farmland.

Natural selection is a beautiful thing, just look at all those willing to remove themselves of the gene pool to help with 'climate change'
There's lots of logging where I live and the landscapes are astounding. Most companies who do logging on a large scale actually have some sort of long-term plan where they cut down certain lands and have others growing and they just got back and forth through these. The biggest factor is how well the land is 'cleaned' after they've done a clean cut. When they let all the branches and roots over the ground, nothing grows back. Now they generally pile 'em up in some sort of line and a wood chipping machine comes and picks up the remains to create chip. A lot of the chip is used for regrowth as a source of nutriment.

They should send the truck with wood chips to my house. I could use a bunch for my flowerbeds.

And for some unknown reason...the forum decide that i would/should accept the first response as answer and did it on my behalf...

How's the weather in Ontario? Are you guys having issues with forest fires? It's been pretty wild up here in Quebec the last week or two. A few of my collegues can't go on their fishing trip because of those fires. I hope they'll be controlled within the end of June because I wouldn't want my fishing trip to be cancelled either.

Lucky, we're lucky too since we're close enough to the US to not be really affected by it but the pictures are quite shocking. They're actually digging trenches at certain places to prevent spreading or at least slow it down. There are some towns that have been evacuated and have been told "We can't do anything to stop the town from burning", so lotsa people are going to lose their houses.

Pinkish sky. Looks nice but apparently it's indication of bad air quality caused by the fire.
They just evacuated a few towns last night, Chibougamau which is a town with a population of over 7500 was evacuated to Roberval. It's been raining since yesterday afternoon though so hopefully they'll start taking control of the situation.

On Wednesday afternoon, North Carolina officials issued a statewide Code Orange air quality alert for all of Thursday as smoke funnels in from Canadian wildfires for the rest of the week.
The smoke "finally" got to us last weekend but it cleared up yesterday. I'll take this time to wish an early happy 4th of July to all the Americans on here, I'll be on my usual fishing trip during that time, leaving thursday morning, coming back on sunday.

Thanks! We're doing Legoland Windsor (UK). Been a few years since I've been now, will be her (and my son's) first time, she's turning 6 and quite excited about the whole thing.
