Ok,
About a year ago I learned a trick where I could create a sketch on the front plane and one on the top plane and then combine them into a single 3D sketch. Followed by using fit spline to smooth out the sketch so I could route a hose. In my old age I have now forgotten how I did that.
Now when I create the two lines and select Composite Curves I get the message that it is unable to join disjoint lines.
Can someone remind me how to do this?
Thank you

Combine 2 sketches on 2D planes into one 3D sketch
You need projected curve option

Convert entities would do that, but you'd have to select all the elements in both sketches. But you could fence select, and it would be easy.

Thank you both. Deepak, the projected curve option was the one I had used before.
Thank you

Well, that worked great. Up to a point. The question now becomes, why did the combined line not continue to the upper cylinder?

Splines are approximations. You had splines laid over both sketches. If you take the splines off and make sure the sketches intersect, it works. You may want to use a 3D sketch to convert that projected curve into a spline to smooth it out.Jim Steinmeyer wrote: ↑Fri Sep 03, 2021 2:29 pm Well, that worked great. Up to a point. This is what it looks like after the curve is smoothed out with a 3d fit spline.

Don't know why the Projected Curve cannot start from the intersecting point, but in this case you would want the pipe coming normal from the hole.Jim Steinmeyer wrote: ↑Fri Sep 03, 2021 2:29 pm Well, that worked great. So, you could make a 3DSketch and Convert Entities from the Project Curve, then draw the connection.
(The second sweep was done with Fit Spline from the 3DSketch)

Good morning,
Here is a macro that converts selected sketches into a single 3D sketch. Maybe it will help.
Credit to @artem for this. Its something I use every week.
