It appears like you have only 16 GB of RAM. You should have at least 32, especially for simulation.

Some days I feel like crushing SolidWorks! Like today it crashed twice on me!

Did sim crash with a message dialog?
Or it completely crash Solidworks?
Or Windows?

Also, do a reboot and start the sim... but don't work on the computer, leave it alone or let run overnight.
Or, as suggested, get that 32gigs of system ram or another system with 32gigs and also reboot and let run overnight.

I ran stress sim on my 16GB laptop.
Crash doesn't mean it ran out of memory.
Even when SW complain "out of memory", it's not out of memory.
Which sim are you running?
Screenshot or even share the files.

Interesting, SW must be making progress on certifying your GPU and you're seeing the effects.

I'd like to know exactly what, if any, the solver is dependent on graphics for computing a sim solution? (not displaying)

I can't speak to solidworks, but I know of a company that was doing massive CFD computations. They built their own supercompter and all of the computations were done using GPUs.
