Hard to believe it's been this long. This was demoed in 2010 at SWW, with a comment they were working on this 3 years prior, so 2007. I can't imagine the amount of money sunk into this over the last 15 years.

I wonder if they started working on DesktopWorks in the 80's before releasing it in '95.

Software running in the cloud? Not using any performance of your on premise device? It is a wet dream, for now.
Ask an IT expert how to create a system to make a 100MBit/s connection available for 1 million users, to run 1 million versions of the software in the cloud, and make this operational reliable and close to the speed of a desktop program.
