Heat source?

Unread post by MJuric »

Not real familiar with doing thermal studies so looking for some help.

I have a situation where I have a part that is seeing minimal contact with another hot part, coming out of a HT furnace. That part I got. What I'm not getting is how do I account for the radiation and other heat. When I go to add a radiation loads it asks me for "Exposed faces". Maybe I'm thinking backwards but what I want is to assign values to the object that is hot and have that be a heat source.

The "Exposed surfaces" will have different radiation depending where on the surface they are in comparison to the heat source.

Thank You

Are you using Surface to Ambient radiation instead of Surface to Surface radiation?
