Mate a Polygon

Unread post by John.Jin1990 »

Hello,
I am a newbie to Solidworks and sorry if I ask simple questions. I am not able to mate the Extruded polygon part to the perforated surface( it doesn't fit into the hole). I selected a side wall of two faces, face and edge but none of them work.

I will be grateful if you could help me.

You can use profile center mate and it do the job (just one mate).

And if you do not want that, then you can add 3 mates.

I have also attached the files for your reference.

Deepak (@gupta9665) is correct. The simplest would be to delete the existing mates and use a profile center mate.

If you used the regular polygon sketch element, then this comes with a circle embedded in the sketch.

Use the circle from both sketch elements and make them concentric, then make 1 face parallel.

But the profile center way is just as good (although it is a more complex mate, which sometimes will error out in Solidworks).
