disable material hatching and surfaces in drawing sections

I have been requested to disable the automatic hatching creation in the drawings. many of our parts are big sheetmetal with a ratio length to thickness that make the hatching not visible and not worthy the graphic calculation.

i tried all sort of registry settings, but when I digged further in the kb there is only an enhancement request pending.

any way to do it?

In the end the hatch in our material DB is mostly not liked as is and it would be better to disable it and set it to manually only when the hatchin makes sense, but I need to understand how existing data is affected.

another issue we face is to setup some command option like the section in drawings, and have the flag that shows the surfaces disable by default.
is there a setting and where is it stored?
