Any model that you can bring into Solidworks can be measured with very high precision. Curved parts may be difficult, but measurements can be taken.

Are you aware of the cost of a Solidworks license? I don't think you're going to want to pay $5k just to measure a part.

This should help on the Solidworks side of it.

The scanned model will contain all the dimensioning, though it will be very roughly and won't be easy to dimension. (For instance, it most likely will not recognize holes as holes but as multiple faces)

Welcome to the world of 3D.
The scanned model is a wire mesh.
Millions of triangles.
Have fun try to measure it in CAD.

Scan Data is just FRIKIN WOUNDERFUL TO WORK WITH...not

I use DezignWorks to reverse our scan with our Romer arm, it can get you 10 to 80% there but you have to make some assumptions during the reversing proccess.

I just got one of those scanners but haven't worked with it yet, scann looks pretty good.

for that part your showing I would have use my caliper to model it up and then used the scan for the area I couldn't measure long hand!
