hole callout incomplete

Unread post by Petertha »

When I make a drawing & invoke the hole callout, it no longer provides the additional information regarding thread details. Just the nominal pilot hole diameter (0.130"). Yet the annotation for the thread is coming across automatically, so it knows its a threaded hole alright. For some strange reason (only today unless I've been ignoring which is unlikely), it complained about missing file which I suspect is related. For sure I didn't delete anything in my program files. Nothing in my trash folder. (SW-2024 on Win-10). Any ideas?

Thanks. I think you put your finger on the issue AND potentially a larger problem. When I installed SW-2024 I noticed it was setting up folders with '(2)' within the folder description. Maybe I selected the wrong installation option to begin with. IOW it recognized an identical folder name from SW-2021 (which I was still running concurrently for a while), so it made a new folder with (2) suffix in folder name. But my file path options in SW-2024 must have copied whatever was in SW-2021, therefore is currently pointing to the original path folder name...which looks to be significantly abbreviated. I naively assumed by uninstalling SW-2021 it would clean these out. But now I have a bit of hybrid mess. I see other pointer references to SW-2021 folders now that I see the entire list.

Should I
- delete or safely rename the semi corrupted SW-2021 file folders
- rename the SW-2024 files with (2) suffix to what they should be. For example Solidworks Corp>Solidworks (2) to Solidworks Corp>Solidworks)
- check that current SW-2024 are pointing to correct = renamed folders

Am I getting into blow up in my face territory & I should wait for a VAR oversight?
