PDM Web
PDM Web
Hello, I'm a drawer for a company, and with my team we would in few months implement Solidworks PDM in our entreprise. For faciliate this implementation we want to use PDM Web, but I have some questions about it, If we buy a licence viewer, for example if some one uses this licence in Polish , can we use it also in France in same time on PDM Web , Or we need a Licence for each PC ?

Re: PDM Web
Sylvain, PDM is a global license so both users can have PDM installed on their computer. If you only have one license of PDM only one person at a time can be logged in and using it.

Re: PDM Web
Okey, Thank you for your speedy answer, so if we use PDM web we need necessarily a normal PDM on our PC ?

Re: PDM Web
You do not need to install PDM on the computer, you will access the vault through an internet browser. However, When a user is connected to the vault through the browser, they will be using one of the available licenses you have.
You will want to talk to your VAR about setting up the Web2 options and capabilities.

Thank you for you answer, it will help us .
Re: PDM Web
I think you are talking about SolidWorks PDM Professional, with a web server. But you might want to consider the 3D Experience PLM+PDM Collaborative Designer for Solidworks option. It's a cloud based subscription. It would be a lot less to set up on the server and IT side. There's a lot of negative feedback on the 3DExperience, but I think the PDM part of it has great potential.
