With all that effort still hardly anyone votes (unless you have very few clients which I don't think would be the case) something just doesn't click with the users to be remotely bothered by the whole TTL.
It's totally broken.
I would guess some of the reasons could include any of the below
1) The platform it's on.
2) Too many ideas to even be bothered to look through.
3) Not broken down into separate sections.
4) The thought it won't change anything.
5) They don't give a @$$%, I go to work, do my job, who cares about the CAD.
6) We pay for the software, surely it's the job of the development engineers.
7) People think it's the job of the VAR's to vote on it.
It's 1-3 for me. There's no good way to sort and find the ideas that may be relevant to what I want.
If they want more participation, maybe they should listen to their customers...I've posted it before...
If only @DennisD had done his job and let them know how to fix that platform, they'd have much more participation.

These two, plus the how hard is to spread the awareness of the TTL. @KevinC actually requested that his VAR spreads the word. The VAR did. The number of votes increased but not by a lot.
I don't recall SolidWorks sending out emails or advertising voting in any way. Maybe I missed it, but I get plenty of emails about 3dx that I don't need or want.

Actually, when VARs vote, people get upset.

I agree with the sentiment in the theory but it probably would not matter if people actually voted!
As we see at the moment, because so few people vote there are a lot of reseller votes and some strategic ones at that.
So the the real answer is to get people voting, what would fix that engagement.

I was a huge proponent for using the TTL and the ER system. The 3DSwamp is just so convoluted that I rarely even go there. For the simple needs of a general forum that thing fails. It is bloatware on steroids. It takes far too much dedication to use it. My hat's off to those of you that do navigate it.
And no, I don't use a flip phone. And yes, I can still set the clock on my VCR!

If you are a TriMech Solutions client who subscribes to our newsletter, you received the email about TTL.
Or, at least we sent it to your email address.

I voted for ones that people put links to here, but trying to navigate that mess to find specific topics is impossible. They need a summary page with links so you can browse quickly for things that actually pertain to you. I started scrolling through the ideas there to try to vote for other things, but a lot are PDM and we don't use PDM. I don't have all day to to find them.

What type of ideas are of interest to you? We can easily filter them using tags and provide you a link.

Or they could have just organised them into separate sectors like any normal person would expect 'General features' 'PDM' 'MBD' 'Routing' 'Weldments' 'Simulation' and so on
Yes people could use tags but as we know getting people engaged is the problem.

For what it's worth there's been a substantial drop in Idea submission quantity since the move to 3DSwym, last one on Jive had 726 vs. 383 this year.

1 would be helpful. I'm sure if it were an easy fix they would have done it a decade ago.
I'm baffled that a product I've never heard of anyone using is in the top 10 (Treehouse.) Maybe it is very popular, and so intuitive and robust that no one has any questions.
I would trade everything on that list for fewer crashes and less "Solidworks is busy".

I'm not just saying this because it's yours, but #7 is my favorite of the ones on the list. It just wouldn't help me much because I pretty much fully define everything as I go.

Good point. Letting SW "automatically" doing something isn't always recommended. (Like when it decides my mates are wrong and "fixes" them for me.)

Yeah, 25 years ago, all of the CAD vendors were promising that their products were getting so smart that the drawings would create themselves and you wouldn't need drafters anymore. 25 years later.........
Maybe AI will finally fulfill that promise, right before it decides to exterminate humanity.

Seems there are few few bits in the 2024 blog that might be of some use for me. Is it worth the maintenance fee and time spent implementing 2024 vs actual time saved over a year, probably not for me.
